Welcome to the web site of Abbots Langley Liberal Democrats

The area of Abbots Langley consists of four wards of Three Rivers District Council: Abbots Langley, Bedmond & Primrose Hill, Langleybury and Leavesden. The wards also make up the area of Abbots Langley Parish Council.

Three Rivers District Council has been a Liberal Democrat run authority since 1994. It currently has 31 Liberal Democrats, 11 Conservatives and 6 Labour councillors. Abbots Langley, Langleybury and Leavesden wards are in the Watford parliamentary constituency, whilst Bedmond & Primrose Hill is in St. Albans. Watford Constituency is one of the most marginal in the country, with Sal Brinton's Liberal Democrats just 1,000 votes behind Labour at the last General Election.

This year, LibDem run Three Rivers District Council has proposed to freeze its part of the council tax. However the Conservative controlled Hertfordshire County Council has set an increase of over £60 for an average home.

Last year, Three Rivers became the first council anywhere in the country to be awarded the presigious Charter Mark for all council services.
