Cllr Matthew Bedford in concerned about the effect of new developments in Popes Road on local traffic

LibDem councillors Matthew & Sara Bedford are following up local residents' concerns about parking and traffic problems in Popes Road. There were a number of problems with contractors' vehicles when the redevelopment of 9 Popes Road went ahead last year. Residents and councillors are keen to avoid a repetition of the problems when eight more homes are built on the site of the former clinic and on the bungalow site.

Councillors are looking at whether it is possible to impose a condition on the new developments, preventing construction staff parking on the public highway. It may also be possible to have temporary restrictions whilst building work takes place. Local residents will be fully consulted on any parking plans.
