New Woodside Leisure Centre and pool on track12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 10th Jun 2007
The building of the new Woodside Leisure Centre is going well and the project is still on course to open in mid-2008. The centre is being built by Watford Council, in a partnership with Three Rivers that has been praised by the Audit Commission. The Woodside project contains a number of sustainable 'green' measures, including a ground source heat pump, rainwater recycling and, subject to planning permission, a solar thermal array for both buildings to generate electricity directly from sunlight.
