No room for refuse lorries leaves rubbish bins unemptied

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 15th Aug 2007

Three Rivers council are continuing to have problems with the refuse and recycling collections on the Ovaltine development. Due to inconsiderate parking, the council are often unable to reach bins in roads including Wander Wharf, Grand Union Way, Ovaltine Drive and Hemsley Road, despite visiting the roads three times in a day to try to gain access.

Cllr Joy Mann said, "The council was forced to accept a low number of parking spaces on the development, due to government rules and the intransigence of the developers. Now we are seeing the problems that this is causing to those living on the estate".
