Details of M25 widening plans announced12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 26th Aug 2007 The Government's Highways Agency (HA) is proposing to widen theM25 motorway to four lanes in each direction between Junctions 16 (M40) and 23 (A1(M)). Construction is planned to start in 2009, with completion by 2012. The HA have released documents explaining the scheme and these are available for public inspection at Three Rivers House. Local councillors have asked for a set to be made available at Abbots Langley library. The documents include the environmental statement and a non-technical summary, together with a range of technical reports on geology and soils, air quality, landscape and traffic noise and vibration. There is a 12 week period during which comments can be made on the environmental statement, which ends on15th November 2007. The HA will also be holding a series of exhibition at Henderson Hall, Abbots Langley on the following dates: Friday 21st September (14.00-21.00 hrs), Saturday 22nd September (10.00-17.00 hrs), Friday 5th October (14.00-21.00 hrs) and Saturday 6th October (10.00-17.00 hrs).
