Residents want safe route to new play area

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 27th Aug 2007

Residents of Woodlands Road and Hyde Lane are unhappy that the Conservative-run Hertfordshire County Council have still failed to act over the danger to pedestrians walking under the Lower Road railway bridge.

They would like their older children to be able to go to the park on their own but the lack of footpath under the bridge makes it unsafe for children to walk the road without adult supervision.

Cllr Richard Laval said, "It is almost 15 years since the county council said that this bridge was a priority - yet they have failed to act".
