County Council leave Popes Road with a sinking feeling

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 10th Sep 2007

Cllr Matthew Bedford has continued to chase the County Council's highways department in order to get the road repaired at the junction of Gallows Hill Lane and Popes Road.

The raised table was dug up earlier this year by a water company, who removed the block paviours and filled the hole with tarmac. This not only looks unsightly, but has left an uneven and sinking mess.

Matthew said, "It is now four months since I first raised this with the county council. They seem unable to either force Thames Water to carry out a proper repair or to fill the hole themselves."
