Langleybury's LibDem councillors are pleased that their campaign to close down this waste transfer station and skip yard have been successful

A waste transfer station and skip yard on the site of the former tool hire business on the A41 has been closed down following legal action from the County Council.

Following concerns from LibDem ward councillors over the change of use, 'stop' notices were issued and enforcement action taken. Although the operators of the site appealed against the decision, a Planning Inspector dismissed the appeal and upheld the decision to close down the yard.

Cllr Keith Peutherer said, "The rapid action of the various authorities and the subsequent planning inspector's dismissal of the appeal have prevented a major eyesore in the green belt".
