Three Rivers District Council has completed the first part of its consultations to determine where new homes should be built in the future. The council will be set 'targets' by Government for increased numbers of houses and is asking local people where they should be built.

After the first consultation, residents rated building housing rather than more offices on the old Leavesden Aerodrome site as the best solution.

However as part of the consultation, local landowners have put forward other suggested sites around the Abbots Langley area including:

  • between Abbots Road and the M25;

  • near the Love Lane reservoir;

  • next to Mansion House Farm

  • Langleybury House and school

  • east of Bedmond village:

  • between Toms Lane and the M25.

The council will now assess all sites suggested against a set of criteria which have been agreed by councillors.

A further consultation will take place in Spring 2008, when all residents can have their say on the future housing in our District.
