The new Woodside Leisure Centre in Horseshoe Lane is still on target for completion in the next few months. Cllr Chris Whately-Smith said "The work is still on budget and on time and the centre should be open before the summer".

Green energy saving devices are all in place and should mean lower running costs in an energy efficient building. Three Rivers Council have invested money in the Watford project to enable local residents to have equal access and price rights for at least 25 years so that all local residents will benefit from these superb new facilities.

Cllr Whately-Smith continued, "Residents will remember that Labour and Conservative councillors tried to stop the council doing this saying they wanted the money spent in Rickmansworth instead".

The new centre includes: an eight lane competition standard swimming pool, learner pool, eight court sports hall, 100 station gym, dance studio, squash courts, all-weather pitch cafe, function room and crèche.
