LibDem councillors are pressing for this crossing to be brought into use as soon as possible

Local residents have asked their LibDem councillors when the promised pedestrian crossing in Hazelwood Lane will be finished and working. The crossing, campaigned for by LibDem councillors, was started last October, but not finished.

Cllr Paul Goggins said, "The electricians have connected the lights at the crossing, but say that they cannot be turned on, as the lines have not been painted. However the County Council believe that the lines have been painted and that the electricians are still needed. The County Council just need to get on and get the crossing working, especially now the shops are open".
