Cllr Paul Goggins has once again called for action to sort out the drainage problems in the High Street

Local LibDem councillors continue to press the Conservative-run County Council to take action to stop puddles on the northern side of the High Street. The problem is caused by the grid, near the pedestrian crossing being too high and not taking the surplus rain water.

County councillor Paul Goggins said, "A simple job of lowering the grid or cutting a channel in the road would seem, to a layman, to be the answer but the highways officers seem unable to respond".
