"The Conservative-run County Council is letting young people down", says Cllr Sara Bedford

After closing down the village youth club two years ago, the Conservative-run County Council are making even more cuts to the youth service.

Cllr Sara Bedford said, "This is so short-sighted. Working with young people keeps them safe, helps them develop and keeps them away from antisocial behaviour. Local residents rate activities for young people as very important, yet the County Council continues to cut this important service.

"The Youth Service tries to do a lot with a small amount of money. To put it into context, the budget in 2007/08 for the Tory County Council's Human Resources department was almost half a million pounds larger than the amount spent on the Youth Service".
