8.38.00pm GMT Wed 27th Feb 2008

Well known local resident and Three Rivers councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst has been selected to stand for the Parish Council by-election in Leavesden ward. The election will be held on Thursday 27th March

The vacancy was created by the sad death of Cllr Betty O'Neill at the end of last year and the by-election was called by the Labour Party.

Stephen said, "Like so many others, I am sad at Betty's death. Whilst she will be a difficult act to follow, I look forward to receiving the support of local residents to enable me to serve them at Abbots Langley Parish Council as well as at Three Rivers".
